I am so excited to begin my first ever blog endeavor. After reading many friends' blogs and realizing not only how fun it seems but also how therapeutic it could potentially be, I've decided to start one of my own.
A little bit about myself... I'm 23 year-old student living in a suburb of Dallas, TX. I have always enjoyed writing and being creative (so I'm surprised that I haven't started one of these things earlier). I majored in journalism at the University of Missouri and am now getting my master's in English education from Texas Woman's University. I hope to become a high school English/journalism teacher starting next school year. The core to my teaching philosophy is life long education, and I strive to instill the importance of continued learning into my students' minds.
I have the most amazing family and friends. Currently living at home, I have to opportunity to reconnect with my parents after going away for undergraduate and an internship. However, I will be happy to get my own place soon. I've been dating my boyfriend, Brian, for almost a year and a half now. We've spent the majority of our relationship long distance, but it's totally worth it because we are so compatible and truly are best friends. I hope that soon he will either be able to move here or I can move to be with him. The future has so much to decide for us!
Although I have had such a blessed life, it has not been completely perfect. I constantly need to remind myself to be thankful for all I have and to see the beauty in things. I hope that through this blog I will not only be forced to search for the things that make me happy but to also inspire others to do the same.
